According to the Price Control Administration of Guangzhou, the Management Measures for Prices of Tourism Products has been issued and will take effect on March 1, 2008.
• prices of tourism products shall be clearly marked by operators. No other fees except the marked price shall be charged.
• transport fees, tickets fees, commission for the preparation of certificates/licenses and other service fees that are fixed by the government shall refer to the relevant regulations and are not allowed to be changed.
• travel services/projects for individuals shall be provided under the agreement of tourists; no service or fee shall be imposed on tourists against their will.
• If additional service is needed or travel itinerary/ price need to be changed due to special reasons, prior consent of tourists shall be obtained.
• tour operators shall implement the tour prices and services in contract.
• false/misleading price marking and content shall be forbidden; no improper price shall be adopted to exclude competitors or monopolize the market; operators shall not act in collusion with each other to manipulate the market price and damage the legitimate rights and interests of tourists and other operators.
