Visitors to Expo 2010's Austria Pavilion will be able to enjoy a spectacular journey through snow-capped mountains, fragrant forests, flowing lakes and urban landscapes, Birgit Murr, vice commissioner general of the pavilion, said in July.

Austria's world-famous music will be a must at the pavilion, Murr said, as she said the familiar melody of the "Blue Danube" would be played from time to time at the exhibit.

The "Blue Danube" was first played at the 1873 Vienna World Exposition.

There will be a large number of projections, displaying scenes such as cracking ice, snowballs and water waves, Murr said. Visitors will also hear the sound of wind and birds chirping.

When asked about whether the pavilion will feature Austrian princess Sissi, who is a famous figure among Chinese due to a 1955 film, Murr said Sissi would certainly make an appearance. An actress will probably be dressed as Sissi, but "a plan has yet to be worked out," Murr said.

The exhibit will be on the ground floor while the second floor will host a restaurant and a VIP room, where some charity events may take place.

The pavilion will have a red and white porcelain exterior. It's logo includes the Chinese character "人" (meaning people) and the letter "A" for Austria.

May 21 will be the pavilion's national day and Austrian officials are expecting 2.5 to 3 million visitors during the six-month Expo period.
