Guangdong Pavilion in World Expo 2010 design competition start

World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai from May 1 to Oct 31, 2010, with a theme “Better city, better life”.

To fully display Guangdong’s charm, strength and creativity, Guangdong is now seeking designers from home and abroad to contribute their schemes for the Guangdong Pavilion in the gala.


Guangdong Pavilion is in the 1/F of China Pavilion, east to Expo Axis, the central traffic landscape line in Expo Site 2010 Shanghai. The pavilion is about 600 sq.m. and 7 meters  high.


 The scheme should include an overall design plan, a display scheme and work plan as well as the budget.


CCPIT Guangdong Sub-Council, organizer of the competition, will choose three finalists, each with 80,000 RMB award and 5 good schemes, each with 20,000 RMB award.


Schemes should be submitted to Guangzhou Pearl River Engineering Construction Supervision Co. Ltd.(1/F,Jinhui Building, Oversea Chinese Park, Taojin Bei Rd., Guangzhou) before Nov 29, 2008. The office hour is 9:00-11:30 and 14:00-17:00.

The contestants or the chief members of teams should be professional in plan, design and multi media production and had experienced in undertaking World Expo-related projects or projects of events of the same scale.


Organizer will confirmed the qualification of the contestants after the submission deadline and will send letter of approve within 5 days. If there are less than 5 schemes submitted by the deadline, the submission time would be extended.
