Four cities in south China's Guangdong Province yesterday (Sep 23) signed participation contracts for their displays at World Expo 2010's Urban Best Practices Area.

Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongwan and Zhongshan will exhibit at UBPA, an innovation of the 2010 Expo. Guangzhou's project is "Sustainable Urban Development - Water Environment Rectification Initiative."

Guangdong leads other Chinese provinces and cities for the number of cases selected to exhibit in UBPA.

Wan Qingliang, vice governor of Guangdong Provincial Government, said the province will spare no efforts in preparing its showcase.

Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, said the preparation of the 2010 World Expo has entered a critical stage marked by the success of the Fourth International Participants Meeting. He hoped Guangzhou would cooperate with the organizer in hosting a "successful, splendid and unforgettable" event.
